OUR BACK GARDEN 2010

April Primulas

During April tulips , hyacinths and alpines began to appear and the daffodils seemed to last the whole of the month, so the garden certainly continued to have more colour.

Having had to give up the auriculas last year due to my severe and worsening allergy we decided to extend our primula range. I was fortunate to increase our stock from a friend and found a local garden centre that happened to be selling off quite a variety on the day we visited. Many of these are quite common ,but colourful, so we will just see how things progress. Currently most are in the greenhouse, some will be split to give new plants and some will be grown on.

Some of the colour combinations are so remarkable we're looking forward to nurturing them through next winter.
